Tokyo Olympic Medals will be made from recycled e-waste.

To make a statement about sustainability Japan has announced that its 2020 Olympic medals will be made from smart phones, computers and laptops.  2700kgs of bronze, 4100 kgs of sliver and approx 300 kgs of gold has been extracted from over 5 million unwanted devices.

The International Olympic Committee requires gold medals to contain at least six grams of gold and 92.5 percent silver.

A great example of recycling.
